The Skinny on the Socks:
"The socks are the result of years of frustration at trying to find something authentic to use. After college and a textile degree and some years in the
business, I took original examples to a gentleman who had been in the reenactment of Manassas in 1961. He agree to make the reproductions, and
we've been making them ever since. They are in use in forty-five states and three foreign countries. The socks themselves are all cotton with no elastic and only a small rib at the top. They are sold as knit, unwashed and natural cotton color. They only need to be washed and dried for use. Expect shrinkage, but this is already made into the sock. There has never been a quality complaint in over twelve years. The general size range fits a man's 9-11 shoe best but works for other sizes, too. I do have a smaller
size for anything much less than a man's size 8 shoe, particularly for women and children."
