The most valuable resources available to us today are not the sanitized histories popularized by self-proclaimed Civil War experts. They are not the authenticity articles linked within these pages. Rather the most valuable resources available to us as Living Historians are undoubtedly the letters, diaries, memoirs and journals of those that lived during the war. These men and women saw first hand what the War Between The States was all about and it is from them we should learn how to be more authentic reenactors.

  1. Letters - Written home, etc. during the war.
  2. Diaries - Written during the war.
  3. Memoirs - Written after the war.
  4. Journals - Written during the war.
  5. Funny Stuff - The lighter side of primary research.
  6. General Orders - Interesting official orders from the U.S. Government.
